Wozani sibonge no Zoë Modiga
The second edition of Bassline Live at the Lyric Theatre Series 2022, in association with BET, features the formidable force that is Zoë Modiga. Supported by BandaBanda and The Crocodiles, she will curate a bespoke show titled ‘UKUBONGA’ (Gratitude) on Saturday, 30 April, with doors opening at 19:00 and the show kicking off at 20:00.
Ushering music lovers into a thanksgiving ceremony
Zoë says the show is called, ‘Ukubonga’ because “it is a thanksgiving that we are ushering the music lovers into. So, imagine any family gathering where you are thankful for each other. That is the energy we wish to bring into being.”
She adds that “we’ve all been through so much and we really just wanted a show that celebrates that we are still here, having passed through it all and having been affected in the various ways. It’s important to love ourselves now as we deal with the aftermath of it all. I’m so excited that I’ll be sharing the stage with my family of world-class musicians and sharing the bill with BandaBanda And The Crocodiles.”
A palpable, spirited, and full of joy show
All and sundry can attest to the fact that Zoë is a lively, transcendent performer who is known to enchant audiences into another world. “Performing at the Bassline Live is always such a treat. These shows are so palpable, spirited, and full of joy. I think music lovers always look forward to them and it’s a beautiful way for us to connect once more,” says the KwaZulu Natal-born all-rounder who represents the present and future of South African music.
Tickets for what will be a super immersive show – cause ya’ll know sis doesn’t joke with any aspect of her performances – will cost between R250 and R400 and are available at Computicket
