The Soil returns to Bassline Live at the Lyric Theatre.

The Soil returns to the annual Bassline Live at the Lyric Theatre series on Friday, 3 November 2023, from 20:00.

#TheSoilReturnsToTheLyric

The Soil last performed at The Bassline Live at The Lyric Theatre in 2019, and it was a SOLD-OUT show. Bassline has been waiting for the right moment for them to return, and it has arrived!

“The Soil is one of many incredible South African talents that Bassline has been fortunate to work with in the last 29 years, and we have watched them grow. We are delighted to have them back on the Bassline Live promoted stage at the beautiful Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City,” says Brad Holmes, Bassline Founder.

New member alert!

‘The Songstress’ Theo Matshoba will be stepping in as an official group member after Buhlebendalo Mda’s decision to embark on her solo career. Matshoba’s story with The Soil is a case of manifesting a moment. In 2012, she posted on Facebook, “The Soil is the dopest group on earth at the moment, for me! But, eish, they need one more member, and I have someone in mind.”

Fast forward to 2016, when Buhlebendalo took a sabbatical from The Soil, the group advertised for auditions, and Theo Matshoba applied and landed the job. She filled in so well during that time that it was a no-brainer to call on her again to complete the trio’s sounds with her beautiful voice.

The Soil re-imagined.

“Bassline Live at The Lyric Theatre is like returning home for us. We have performed at that venue for The Soil family and are always inspired by how they have received us. This time, it will be different, as we will also give a sneak preview of new material from our upcoming album. As for ‘The Songstress’, all we can say is that you should wait to be amazed, it’s The Soil re-imagined”, said The Soil.

Experience the musical magic we know, brothers Ntsika’ Fana-tastic’ Ngxanga and Beatboxer Luphindo Ngxanga are known for, this time with a new member, on Friday, 3 November, at The Lyric at Gold Reef City Casino from 20:00. Tickets start at R350 and can be bought from Computicket.
